Our story
A Tanzanian Sesame Exporter Built Around Single-Origin Sourcing
Afri Exports is a wholesale agricultural exporter founded in 2010 in Mtwara, Tanzania. Our sesame programme spans the country's central and southern growing belt — we buy direct from smallholder growers, clean and bag under TBS-certified operations, lab-test every lot and ship FOB to importers and mills worldwide.

Single-origin, traceable to the district
Every container is tied to specific Tanzanian growing districts and to a harvest window inside the May to August season. That traceability is how we hold purity and oil content consistent across repeat orders — and how we stand behind a buyer's own claims to their customers and auditors.

Quality & compliance
A documented chain, lot after lot
Quality starts in the field — sesame cut and stooked in the dry season, threshed clean and dried to 6 per cent moisture or below before bagging. Sortex cleaning takes natural white lots to 99.95 per cent purity, and an independent laboratory verifies purity, oil content, FFA and moisture on every lot, with aflatoxin and salmonella screening against the destination market's limits.

Joachim Mbwana
Sourcing Lead
Manages farm-gate procurement across Dodoma, Singida, Morogoro, Lindi and Mtwara. Built the district-level traceability system that ties every sesame lot to a defined growing area and harvest window.
Asha Ngonyani
Quality Manager
Runs the cleaning, grading and lab-testing programme — from moisture discipline at intake through sortex cleaning to per-lot purity, oil, FFA, aflatoxin and salmonella verification before every shipment.
Daniel Mahenge
Logistics Coordinator
Plans bagging, container loading and routing from Dar es Salaam and Mtwara — matching bag format and liner to each ocean lane so seed arrives dry and in spec.

Nutrition & Editorial Lead
Writes the nutrition and food-science side of the journal, translating sesame's lignan, mineral and oil profile into claims buyers can actually stand behind. Keeps every published number sourced and checkable.
